Chicago – December 11, 2025: The Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) honored Chicago counsel Judy He with its Fellow Alumni Award for her outstanding commitment to public interest law, pro bono service, and providing equal access to justice.
Judy served as chair of PILI’s Young Professionals Board in 2022-2023 and as a PILI Graduate Fellow at the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights in 2017. She has led complex federal cases and provided critical representation through the Tahirih Justice Center and the National Immigrant Justice Center.
Judy and PILI’s other honorees were recognized at PILI’s Annual Awards Luncheon in Chicago on Dec. 10. In her acceptance remarks, Judy noted: “This past year has been especially challenging, but it is precisely in difficult times that we are called to be braver, to advocate harder, and to insist that hope is not fragile…Excellence in the law must always include service to those who need it most.”
Along with her active pro bono practice, Judy is a counsel in Crowell’s Patents Group. Her practice focuses on patent and trade secrets litigation for companies across various industries, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
