The International Legal Technology Association has named Crowell & Moring’s chief innovation and value officer Alma Asay to its 2024 list of Influential Women in Legal Technology. The annual list honors “outstanding women leaders in the global legal technology community.” Honorees are selected based on their history of mentorship and “level of impact on legal technology.”
Asay is an established innovation leader, with more than two decades of experience in the legal industry. In her role as Crowell’s first chief innovation and value officer, Asay oversees a wide-range of initiatives relating to, among other areas, client value, cross-departmental business intelligence, knowledge management, practice innovation, research services, and generative AI. She is a recognized thought leader, regularly speaking at industry conferences and spearheading client presentations on various innovation and value topics.
Asay started her career as a lawyer at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she litigated complex commercial disputes. She later founded Allegory, one of the first cloud-based litigation management platforms. When Allegory was purchased by Integreon Discovery Solutions, Asay became Integreon’s chief innovation officer. Later, at Litera Microsystems, she increased the company’s visibility and customer focus through collaborations on thought leadership with industry leaders, strategies to strengthen relationships with global law firms, and insights into the development of technologies focused on lawyers as end users.
