IP lawyers Kristof Roox, Jan-Diederik Lindemans, Gunther Meyer and Jurgen Figys are recognized

Brussels – June 15, 2020: Intellectual Asset Management recognized Crowell & Moring in its IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners guide, awarding the firm a gold band ranking as one of the top four firms handling litigation and transactions in Belgium. This marks the seventh consecutive year that the firm has been included in the guide. The guide also recognized Brussels partners Kristof Roox and Jan-Diederik Lindemans, senior counsel Gunther Meyer, and counsel Jurgen Figys.

The guide describes the firm as “a point of reference on the Belgian market and the go-to firm for generic pharmaceutical manufacturers. It has deep reserves of knowledge and understands the practical implications of the pricing and reimbursement status of medicines. It is always ready to try something now, think out of the box and surprise its opponents.”

Roox, co-managing partner of the firm’s Brussels office, received one of five gold band individual rankings for litigation and transactions. He is described by the guide as “arguably the fiercest litigator in the country,” noting that “he never leaves a stone unturned and keeps opposing counsel on their toes by finding arguments no one would ever think of in order to obtain a successful result. He hammers his points home and certain shifts in Belgian case law would not have happened if it was not for him.”

As a silver band ranked lawyer, the guide describes Lindemans as “bright and tenacious in court,” and “brilliant [to watch] in action.” In the bronze category, Meyer was noted as an “efficient and effective communicator,” while Figys was recognized as one “who thinks of innovative ways to approach issues and questions. He is the preferred counsel for cross-jurisdictional IP and regulatory advice.”
