Google General Counsel Halimah DeLaine Prado Named to LCLD Board of Directors

(Richmond, VA – January 27, 2022) – The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) is pleased to announce it has named Google general counsel Halimah DeLaine Prado to its board of directors. 

In her current role, DeLaine Prado leads Google’s global legal team, advising on some of the most complex and important legal issues of the digital age. DeLaine Prado has been with Google since 2006 and previously served as a vice president of legal, managing the global team handling counsel for Google products, including ads, search, cloud and YouTube. 

“Since its founding, LCLD has been a leader in the efforts to achieve a more diverse legal profession,” said DeLaine Prado. “I am honored to be joining the LCLD board at this critical time in our nation’s history and look forward to being a key voice for the organization as it seeks to make meaningful change in the legal industry.” 

DeLaine Prado is one of more than 175 LCLD Members to date to have joined the organization’s Leaders at the Front initiative in making a public pledge detailing how they will seek to advance diverse talent in the legal profession. DeLaine Prado’s pledge is available here.

Earlier in her career, DeLaine Prado practiced media law and products liability law at Dechert LLP and Levine Sullivan Koch and Schulz (which has since merged with Ballard Spahr). She also clerked for Judge Mary A. McLaughlin of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. DeLaine Prado obtained her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.A. from Yale University.
