Washington, D.C. – November 3, 2011: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that it has been recognized by Financial Times (FT)in the publication's annual "U.S. Innovative Lawyers 2011" report. Ranked as one of six "stand out" firms in the country under the "business of law" category, Crowell & Moring was recognized as a leader for its creative and proactive approach to the use of alternative fee arrangements (AFAs).

The report, an annual review of the work of lawyers around the world who have created innovative solutions to some of the most complex problems facing business, governments, and societies, was published on November 3, 2011. The firm was previously recognized in the FT's 2009 report for its work in offering cutting-edge AFAs.

According to the FT, "Only the firm that really knows its business can offer clients a realistic AFA. Crowell & Moring, for example, has been pursuing AFAs for more than four years. One-third of its $327.5 million revenues in 2010 came from such arrangements. Over the past year it has introduced a computer program to refine the process, which suggests AFAs based on client demands."

The prestigious "FT Innovative Lawyers" report is driven by submissions from law firms and in-house counsel across Europe and the United States, in which each innovation is assessed for its originality, rationale, and impact. The awards are a cumulative result of nearly 300 submissions. The research was conducted by RSG Consulting, the FT's research partner.

Crowell & Moring LLP is an international law firm with approximately 500 lawyers representing clients in litigation and arbitration, regulatory, and transactional matters. The firm is internationally recognized for its representation of Fortune 500 companies in high-stakes litigation, as well as its ongoing commitment to pro bono service and diversity. The firm has offices in Washington, DC, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orange County, Anchorage, London, and Brussels.
