EVENT ADVISORY: Crowell & Moring and George Washington University Host Sixth Annual Antitrust & Tech Conference (May 13)

Washington – May 1, 2025: Crowell & Moring and George Washington University Competition Law Center will host the 6thAnnual Antitrust & Tech Conference starting at 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 13, at the George Washington University Law School. The annual conference will explore the tech industry and monopolization, antitrust enforcement, and what the Trump administration may mean for the future of Big Tech.
Andy Gavil, senior counsel in Crowell & Moring’s Antitrust and Competition Group and William Kovacic, director of the GWU Competition Law Center will co-moderate a Fireside Chat featuring DOJ Antitrust Division Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Roger Alford. The conversation will discuss the Antitrust Division’s enforcement, policy goals, and priorities, as well as prospects for international cooperation and coordination.
Two panels will offer further insights into the DOJ’s enforcement strategy and plans. The first panel will discuss merger enforcement policy under the prior administration, specifically the revised FTC merger guidelines and whether those changes will have durable impact, and how the current administration may prioritize its own merger policy initiatives and enforcement priorities. Panelists include:

The second panel will discuss whether Section 2 enforcement will effectively address tech monopolization, including lessons learned from the government’s first pair of liability trials that recently concluded. Panelists include:
