Emily Kuwahara and Sima Namiri-Kalantari Recognized as Los Angeles Business Journal Women of Influence

Los Angeles – June 5, 2025: The Los Angeles Business Journal has named Crowell & Moring partners Emily Kuwahara and Sima Namiri-Kalantari to its 2025 Women of Influence: Attorneys list. The honorees demonstrate “exceptional legal skill and achievement across the full spectrum of responsibility, exemplary leadership as evidenced by the highest professional and ethical standards, and for contributions to the Los Angeles community at large.”

Kuwahara is a partner in Crowell’s Litigation Group and serves a co-chair of the appellate practice. She has represented defendants in a patent inventorship dispute, breach of contract actions, business torts, antitrust and consumer class actions, unfair competition law, products liability, and other complex business disputes. The LABJ notes that she has led a Crowell team representing The Regents of the University of California in a number of key cases over the past decade.

Namiri-Kalantari, a partner in Crowell’s Antitrust and Competition Group, represents companies in civil litigation related to price fixing, monopolization, market allocation, no-poach allegations, and other issues. LABJ notes that she leverages her background in economics to all stages of litigation, including expert selection and testimony, discovery, class action defense, and preparing for trial.

Crowell & Moring Opens Office in Minneapolis

Washington – May 13, 2026: Crowell & Moring has opened a new office in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with a focus on the firm’s regulatory, enforcement and litigation strengths in areas including health care, antitrust and competition, and labor and employment.
