Crowell Partner Kate Growley Receives ABA Presidential Appointment as Co-Chair of Cybersecurity Legal Task Force

Crowell partner Kate M. Growley has received an ABA Presidential appointment to serve as co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Cybersecurity Legal Task Force for a one-year term beginning in August 2026. The appointment builds on Kate’s longstanding ABA leadership, including numerous roles in the ABA’s Public Contract Law and Science & Technology Sections, and recognizes her deep knowledge in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and national security law and policy. 

Kate advises businesses around the globe on their most challenging digital issues, with a particular focus on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and their intersection with national security. She holds credentials including the AIGP, CIPP/G, and CIPP/US. Kate is a founding member of the firm's Privacy and Cybersecurity Group and part of the firm’s AI Steering Committee.  

The ABA Cybersecurity Legal Task Force works to educate attorneys, policymakers, and the public on cybersecurity risks, data protection, and cyberattack response. The committee also coordinates the ABA's analysis and assessment of cybersecurity-related proposals, helping shape informed legal and policy discussions in this rapidly evolving area.
