Scott Feldmann Joins the Firm's Irvine Office

Washington, D.C. – March 11, 2003: Crowell & Moring ("C&M") is happy to announce that Scott Feldmann, formerly with Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, has joined C&M's Irvine office, effective March 10, as Counsel. Feldmann's areas of expertise include IP, Internet, e-commerce and privacy litigation, compliance counseling and software and IP counseling. As an experienced and entrepreneurial litigator who has principally litigated in the Intellectual Property area, Feldmann will be a welcome extension to the firm's Washington, D.C. IP arm.

As firm Chairman, John Macleod, explains, "Crowell & Moring has a successful office in Irvine, but one of our primary objectives this year is to make it even more successful by increasing its opportunities for interaction with the firm's Washington office. Bringing Scott in will inevitably help to build that bridge."

Macleod goes on to say that, "With our strong IP and IP litigation practices in Washington, and with the IP talent pool and client base in Orange County, adding IP lawyers and litigators in Irvine is just a natural for us. We have taken the first exciting step in that direction with the addition of Scott. Scott has spent the past eight years with Brobeck, and we are delighted to have him with us."

According to Randy Erickson, head of the Firm's Irvine office, "Scott is multidimensional, with an enviable record of victories in IP litigation and a keen eye toward client development. These traits will serve both him and the Irvine office well."

R. "SCOTT" FELDMANN spent his first two years of legal practice with Kaye, Scholer, Fierman, Hays & Handler LLP, and since 1995 has been in the Irvine office of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. Feldmann has successfully obtained temporary restraining orders in both federal and state court litigation involving copyright, trademark, trade secret, unfair competition, trade libel and breach of fiduciary cases. His role often includes advising general counsel on privacy, electronic contracting, intellectual property enforcement matters, and settlement negotiations. Feldmann graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1982 with an electrical engineering degree, then went on to receive his Masters degree in electrical engineering. He received his J.D. from the University of Berkeley in 1993. Born, 1961, Stillwater, OK.
