Crowell & Moring Recognized by Leadership Council for Legal Diversity as a Top Performer and Compass Award Winner

Washington – October 29, 2021: Crowell & Moring has been recognized with both the Top Performer and Compass Award designations by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, for its strong commitment to building a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization and legal profession.

LCLD is one of the nation’s leading organizations promoting diversity and consists of more than 350 leaders, including corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners, who have contributed time and resources to creating a truly diverse legal profession.

The Top Performer award recognizes law firms and corporations in the top 20 percent for participation in LCLD programs and activities. The Compass Award recognizes LCLD members who submit a Leader's Pledge and/or personally attend LCLD’s annual meeting, participate in the Fellows and Pathfinder programs, as well as participate in at least one pipeline program (Mentoring or 1L Scholars). Crowell & Moring is actively involved and engaged in each of these initiatives.

The firm is a proud, longstanding member of LCLD. Over the past decade, the Crowell & Moring has sponsored partners, counsel, associates, and summer associates in a variety of pipeline and talent development programs that have provided invaluable mentorship, leadership, and networking opportunities for women and diverse talent. 

In September, LCLD’s Board of Directors, led by Ellen M. Dwyer, chair of the LCLD Board and chair of Crowell & Moring’s Executive Committee, announced a requirement for members to create a public pledge detailing actions they will take to advance women and diverse talent.
