Crowell & Moring Partner Emmanuel Plasschaert Elected Vice President of Brussels Bar

Brussels – June 23, 2020: Emmanuel Plasschaert, partner and head of Crowell & Moring’s Brussels Corporate, Commercial & Employment practices, has been elected to serve as vice president (“dauphin”) of the Brussels Bar.
“I would like to thank my colleagues in the Bar who have placed their trust in me, and congratulate all of the outstanding candidates,” Plasschaert said. “There are challenges that lie ahead for us all, and I will be at your side to address them together.”
Plasschaert advises clients on individual and collective labor law, international employment, HR data protection and privacy issues, and corporate transactions and restructurings. He is also a seasoned litigator. For more than 25 years, he has represented Belgian and multinational companies, as well as individuals, before the Belgian courts in commercial and complex litigation matters, including seizures and cross-border litigation issues. He was one of the first to represent a client in class action proceedings in Belgium. Plasschaert has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 1993.
The French Brussels Bar is the first French bar of the country and represents approximately 5,000 lawyer members. It is also the third French bar in the world, behind the Paris and the Montreal bar.
Plasschaert will begin his two-year term as vice president on September 1, before assuming the role of president on September 1, 2022, another two-year term.
