Washington, D.C. – June 5, 2006: A group of Crowell & Moring lawyers will square off against seven prominent area law firms in a hotly contested battle of the bands to benefit Gifts for the Homeless, Inc., (GFTH), a non-profit, volunteer-run organization supported by the city’s legal community to help the homeless. Madam’s Organ Restaurant & Bar, a premier Adams Morgan hot-spot, has partnered with GFTH to host “Banding Together ’06” on Thursday, June 8, 7:00pm to midnight.
The following bands will compete for the title of “Banding Together Champion” at the event:
Beats Workin’ (Hogan & Hartson LLP/ Alston & Bird LLP)
King Cadillac (Miller & Chevalier)
The Sanctions (Greenberg Traurig, LLP)
Waterson (Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP)
Big Sur (Sidley Austin LLP)
Fired (Crowell & Moring)
On Kilter (Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP)
The Precedents (McDermott Will & Emery)
The bands will play music ranging from classic rock to blues. Just after midnight, one band will be crowned champion, based upon “Chicago-style” voting with monetary donations. All revenues received by GFTH will be used to purchase essential new clothing items for homeless men, women, and children. GFTH will then distribute the new clothing to more than 20 shelters throughout the metro area.
