Washington, D.C. – April 1, 2010: For the third consecutive year, Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that the firm's International Arbitration practice has been included in Global Arbitration Review's (GAR) 2010 edition of the GAR 100, a guide to the top 100 law firms with international arbitration capabilities. GAR is one of the leading journals of public and private arbitration.
According to GAR, "Crowell & Moring is one of a group of US arbitration practices...that have been on growth-charge in the past few years…(now) the big news is everything still seems to be going through a growth spurt. The firm had reports adding six associates, all of whom had an arbitration focus. They added Russian, Brazilian-Portuguese and NAFTA to the languages the team could now speak. On top of that, it made two partner-level laterals, plus it enjoyed the group's first homegrown success in Crowell & Moring partnership elections."
The GAR 100 analyzes the top 100 arbitration practices in the world, as selected by GAR editors and reporters. To determine law firm rankings, GAR uses a variety of criteria including reputation, current work, and experience. The final list represents GAR's subjective opinion.
The GAR 100 has named the following Crowell & Moring attorneys as part of their "Lawyers to Know" category:
- New York : Pieter H.F. Bekker and Samaa Haridi;
- Washington DC : Arif Hyder Ali, Stuart H. Newberger, Alexandre de Gramont, Ian A. Laird, and Baiju S. Vasani
In addition to the GAR 100, the following members of Crowell & Moring's International Arbitration practice have been named to GAR's "International Who's Who of Commercial Arbitration Lawyers":
- Arif Hyder Ali
- Alexandre de Gramont
- Ian A. Laird
