Crowell & Moring’s Martin Bishop Named to Crain’s Chicago Business 2026 Notable Leaders List

Chicago – August 17, 2026: Martin J. Bishop, co-chair of Crowell’s Health Care Group and a member of the firm’s Management Board, has been named to Crain’s Chicago Business’ 2026 list of Notable Leaders in Accounting, Consulting, & Law. The award honors leading Chicago attorneys, accountants, and consultants who have demonstrated significant professional leadership, industry impact, mentorship, and community involvement. 

A seasoned trial lawyer, Bishop’s practice focuses on managed care, handling both litigation and counseling matters. He represents some of the country’s largest managed care organizations  in complex cases across multiple jurisdictions. His work covers a wide range of managed care disputes, including claims denials, provider networks, prompt pay, and issues involving ERISA, the Affordable Care Act, and the Mental Health Parity Act. 

Last summer, Bishop led the transition of a health care practice comprising more than 60 attorneys, 85 professionals and staff in total, from a peer AM Law firm to Crowell and Moring. The move significantly expanded Crowell's health care group, positioning it among the largest in the country. Clients now have access to an integrated platform that spans litigation, regulatory counseling, investigations, transactional work, and recovery services, all within a single firm.
