Crowell & Moring’s Jared Levine Honored with NMIC Igniting Community Justice Award

New York – December 11, 2025: Jared Levine, a partner in Crowell & Moring’s New York Litigation Group, has received the Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation’s (NMIC) prestigious Igniting Community Justice Award. The honor recognizes Levine’s steadfast commitment to service, equity, and strengthening community through his professional and pro bono work.

Since 2020, Levine has served as Impact Litigation Fellow at NMIC, representing low-income tenants in litigation aimed at expanding access to affordable, rent-stabilized housing across New York City.  Through this unique partnership between NMIC and Crowell & Moring, Levine and his NMIC co-counsel have (1) recovered nearly $8.5 Million in rent overcharge damages for low-income tenants in Washington Heights, and (2) ensured that dozens of apartments will remain rent stabilized and affordable for decades to come.

As highlighted in his honoree video, Levine is a dedicated advocate for equal access to justice. The video details Levine’s key role in a large-scale rent overcharge litigation on behalf of more than 30 tenants in a single building. The case, rooted in years of tenant organization, involved a landlord’s fraudulent scheme that left low-income residents facing squalid conditions, excessive rent increases, and a lack of essential services. Through their zealous advocacy, Levine and his co-counsel collected more than $6 million in damage for the tenants following a multi-year legal effort.

Levine’s practice focuses on complex litigation at both the trial and appellate levels, including post-closing merger and asset sale disputes, energy infrastructure disputes, antitrust litigation, class action defense, healthcare litigation, and financial services litigation. He appears regularly in state and federal courts, as well as domestic and international arbitrations, where he represents clients from a broad range of industries, including renewable energy producers, health insurers, private equity firms, media and telecommunications companies, industrial manufacturers, financial institutions, and software providers.
