London – July 3, 2025: Crowell & Moring announced today that four team members of its London office have been approved by The U.K. Charity Commission as practitioners considered for future Interim Manager appointments.
Following a rigorous assessment process, Crowell & Moring’s Nicola Phillips, commercial litigation partner, Cathryn Williams, restructuring partner, Amanda Kwagala, corporate counsel, and David Russell, litigation barrister, have successfully been added to the approved Interim Managers list alongside 40 other firms.
Interim Managers are appointed to manage the property and affairs of a charity in serious cases of misconduct, mismanagement, abuse or regulatory concern, taking on the same duties and responsibilities as a trustee.
Acceptance to the list, which opens for applications once a year, means Crowell & Moring will be invited to tender when the Charity Commission is investigating charities and wishes to appoint an Interim Manager “with the right skills and experience at a cost that will provide the charity with value for money.”
On joining the list, partner Nicola Phillips comments: “We are pleased to have been appointed to the Charity Commission’s Interim Managers list. Our team is proud to support the sector and the Interim Manager service is crucial in the governance and safeguarding of charities, ensuring management and administration can function effectively when charities encounter challenges.”
