New York – March 11, 2020: City & State New York named Glen G. McGorty, managing partner of Crowell & Moring’s New York office, to its 2020 Law Power 100 List. The list recognizes New York’s “100 most politically powerful lawyers.”
In announcing the honor, the publication quoted Chambers USA, saying that McGorty is “‘held in high regard” and considered a “leader in white collar and regulatory enforcement.” A former assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York, McGorty has “a strong reputation when it comes to government investigations [and] has served as the independent monitor of the New York City District Council of Carpenters since 2014,” the publication wrote.
In addition to serving as the New York office managing partner, McGorty is a member of the firm’s Management Board and its White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement Group. He is an experienced trial lawyer who served for nearly 15 years as a federal prosecutor in both the Southern District of New York and the Justice Department in Washington, D.C.
McGorty represents corporate entities and individuals in federal and state criminal and regulatory matters, and in investigations conducted by grand juries, congressional committees, independent and special counsel, and international, federal, and state law enforcement and regulatory agencies. He has also led internal investigations for many corporate clients including multiple international financial institutions, a major defense contractor, a global communications company, an international power plant construction company, and a Fortune 100 multinational engineering conglomerate.
