Arthur N. Lerner Named Outstanding Healthcare Antitrust Lawyer by Nightingale's Healthcare News

Washington, D.C. – January 25, 2007: Arthur N. Lerner, a partner in Crowell & Moring LLP's Health Care Group, has been recognized as one of 12 "Outstanding Healthcare Antitrust Lawyers of 2006" in the December 2006 issue of Nightingale's Healthcare News. The honor recognizes exceptional lawyers practicing in antitrust healthcare nationwide. In 2005, Lerner was named to the Nightingale's "Outstanding Hospital Lawyers." Nightingale’s Healthcare News is a bimonthly newsletter for professionals serving the healthcare industry, healthcare executives, and others.
Lerner's practice focuses on antitrust, transactions, and fraud and abuse issues for managed care organizations, health care providers, and other health care entities. He is chair of the antitrust practice group of the American Health Lawyers Association and co-chair of the American Bar Association Antitrust Section’s Federal Civil Enforcement Committee. He directed the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) health care antitrust program from 1982 to 1985 and before that, while at the Commission, he served as attorney advisor to the Chairman of the FTC, assistant to the director of the Bureau of Competition, and as an FTC trial attorney in health care antitrust.
