Delphine Keppens is an associate in Crowell & Moring’s Brussels office. She focuses on commercial and corporate matters, including the drafting of (international) commercial contracts, negotiation, litigation before the Belgian Courts, seizures, cross-border issues, and assistance in the setting up, operating, and restructuring of clients’ businesses.

Delphine also advises on European Data protection and privacy legislation. She is certified as a Data Protection Officer by the Belgian Data Protection Institute and has in-house experience in implementing and managing internal data protection projects. Delphine also supports the firm on individual and collective Belgian labor & employment law issues.

Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Delphine was already a member of the Brussels (Dutch-speaking) Bar and worked as an attorney-at-law from 2012 to 2018. She assisted, advised,  and represented national and international clients before the Dutch and French speaking Belgian courts in connection with various corporate, commercial, and labor & employment matters. In 2018, Delphine moved in-house to gain experience as legal and compliance counsel within the aeronautical sector. In this role, she provided advice on all types of commercial contracts, claims and litigations, legal risks on the management level, and corporate law management. Delphine was nominated as the company’s Data Protection Officer and managed its data protection program. She was also involved in setting-up and following-up on the Internal Export Compliance Program (U.S. and EU export compliance rules).

Delphine obtained her master degree in law, magna cum laude, at the University of Ghent in 2011 and obtained a complementary master degree, cum laude, on International Public law at the Free University of Brussels in 2012. That same year, Delphine obtained her degree at the International School of Nuclear law in Montpellier. During her masters, Delphine participated in several international moot courts (Moot Court of Human Rights, Concours Rousseau).

Delphine lived abroad for more than twelve years as a child (mostly in African countries) and as a result of this multicultural education is fluent in Dutch, French, English, Italian, and German.
