Partners Sadina Montani and Ellen Dwyer Participate in Women’s Bar Association of D.C. Leadership Symposium

Washington—October 16, 2020: Partners Sadina Montani and Ellen Moran Dwyer recently participated in the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia’s “Women and Leadership Series.”

Dwyer, chair of Crowell & Moring’s Executive Committee, participated in an October 8 roundtable discussion with fellow female leaders in the law, entitled “Carrying and Passing the Torch: A Roundtable with Remarkable Women Leaders.” The panel also featured Rep. Yvette Clark (NY-9), and Coline Jenkins, the great-great-granddaughter of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, a women’s rights and suffrage movement leader and activist in the anti-slavery movement.

Montani, who serves as president of the WBADC and recently joined Crowell & Moring’s Labor & Employment Group, moderated a panel entitled “Breaking In: Advocating for Yourself Early in Your Career, An Interactive Session.” She will also host a fireside chat in the program’s third week with current and past Woman Lawyer of the Year honorees.

The three-week series follows other recent WBADC programming, including its Presidential Appointments event, which was moderated by Rachel Smolkin of CNN Politics, and the annual Stars of the Bar, honoring Champions of Suffrage including suffragist and trailblazer, Belva Ann Lockwood, Rep. John Lewis, and Kristen Clarke, President and Executive Director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. A video of that event is available here

Founded in 1917, the Women’s Bar Association is one of the oldest and largest voluntary bar associations in metropolitan Washington, DC. Visit for more information.
