Partner S. Starling Marshall Appointed Chair of The Federal Bar Association’s Section on Taxation

New York – October 7, 2021: S. Starling Marshall, a partner in Crowell & Moring’s Tax and Litigation groups in New York, has been appointed as chair of the Federal Bar Association’s (FBA) Section on Taxation for the 2021-2022 committee year.
The FBA’s Section on Taxation promotes the welfare, interests, education, and professional growth and development of members of the Section; promotes high standards of professional competence and ethical conduct in the practice of federal tax law; and provides opportunities for interaction between tax practitioners in public service and the private sector.
Marshall represents clients in commercial and tax litigation in federal and administrative tribunals, complex IRS audits and administrative appeals, provides tax-related advice, conducts internal investigations, and represents individuals and corporate entities in criminal tax matters. Prior to entering private practice, she served as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Tax Division, Court of Federal Claims Section. She served on the Tax Division’s employment tax enforcement task force. For her service, the U.S. Department of Justice awarded her the Outstanding Attorney Award (2015) and the Special Commendation for Outstanding Contribution (2013).
