Legal 500 United States Ranks Crowell & Moring’s Intellectual Property Group

Washington, D.C. – March 19, 2007: Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce that the firm's Intellectual Property Group has been ranked by The Legal 500 U.S.-Volume II (Intellectual Property, Media, Technology, and Telecoms) in the categories of IP: non-contentious/transactional - Patent Re-examination and IP: non-contentious/transactional - Patent Prosecution: International Clients. The prestigious rankings are driven by independent interviews of clients and members of the legal community at outside law firms. Two firm lawyers recognized in this category include, Jeffrey D. Sanok, Washington, D.C. based chair of Crowell & Moring's Intellectual Property Group, and Kimberley Chen Nobles, a partner with the group based in Irvine, California.

In the past year, Crowell & Moring's Intellectual Property Group has been involved in multiple re-examination proceedings before the U.S. patent & Trademark Office involving patents in active litigation. In one such case concerning a leading luxury automaker's innovative display technology, the firm successfully initiated the re-examination of five of the lawsuit patents, shortly after which the parties settled. Crowell & Moring also successfully guided an important manufacturing patent through the re-examination proceeding to strengthen the Patentee's rights. The firm's Intellectual Property Group has continually represented some of the most prestigious household names in the world.
