New York – November 26, 2019: Crowell & Moring advised GigCapital, Inc. on its business combination with Kaleyra S.p.A., a rapidly growing cloud communications software provider delivering secure application programming interfaces and connectivity solutions in the API/Communications Platform as a Service market.

With the completion of this transaction, GigCapital’s name has been changed to Kaleyra, Inc., and the newly combined company’s common stock will begin trading under the ticker symbols “KLR” on the NYSE American stock exchange effective today.

Crowell & Moring served as legal counsel to GigCapital on this transaction. The team included partners Jeffrey C. Selman, Todd Rosenberg, Renée Delphin-Rodriguez, Paul Pollock and Charles Hwang; counsel William J. Bruno and corporate transaction manager Matt Postiglione.

Senior DOJ Appellate Attorney Elizabeth Hecker Joins Crowell & Moring, Bolstering Education Practice

Elizabeth Hecker, former acting deputy chief and special litigation counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division’s Appellate Section, has joined Crowell & Moring as senior counsel in the Litigation Group. Hecker brings more than two decades of experience leading litigation in the federal court of appeals, with a focus on cases involving education and matters related to Title IV, Title VI, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.
