Crowell & Moring’s Kirsten Nathanson Named a Washington Emerging Woman Leader in Private Practice

Washington – March 18, 2019: Crowell & Moring partner Kirsten Nathanson has been named an “Emerging Woman Leader in Private Practice” by DCA Live, an organization that recognizes people and companies driving growth in the Washington, D.C. economy. The award “identifies, recognizes, and honors 30-40 women lawyers who are (or are becoming) leaders within their law firms, demonstrating a unique strength in leadership.”
Nathanson is an elected member of Crowell & Moring’s Management Board and appointed co-chair of the firm’s Environment & Natural Resources Group. She focuses on environmental litigation, enforcement defense, risk assessment, and regulatory counseling under the major federal environmental and public lands statutes. Her litigation experience covers the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Endangered Species Act, Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, encompassing citizen suit defense, regulatory challenges, remediation cost recovery and defense, Administrative Procedure Act actions, and Environmental Protection Agency enforcement.
She currently serves as co-chair of the Environmental Litigation & Toxic Tort Committee for the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources. Nathanson was a founding president of the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the Women's Energy Network and past president of the Board of Trustees of the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation.
