Crowell & Moring Partners Jodi Daniel and Dj Wolff Named American Lawyer South Trailblazers

Washington, D.C. – October 6, 2022: The American Lawyer has named Crowell & Moring partners Jodi G. Daniel and David (Dj) Wolff to its 2022 list of “South Trailblazers.” The series profiles lawyers from the southern region who are “agents of change” and have moved the needle in their practice areas.

Daniel is a managing director of Crowell Health Solutions (CHS), a strategic consulting firm affiliated with Crowell & Moring. She is also a partner in Crowell’s Health Care Group, a member of the group’s Steering Committee, and leads the firm's Digital Health Practice. American Lawyer noted that for over two decades, Daniel has shaped and developed regulations and policy that catalyzed digital health innovation. Prior to joining Crowell, Daniel was the founding director of the Office of Policy in the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the first Senior Counsel for Health Information Technology in the Office of the General Counsel. 

“There will continue to be dynamic policy changes related to health data and health care innovation…As head of CHS and Crowell’s Digital Health practice, I will continue to track legal and policy changes and help organizations understand how those changes affect the digital health innovation that is designed to improve health, patient care, and the patient experience,” Daniel told American Lawyer.

Wolff is a partner and serves on the steering committee of Crowell’s International Trade Group, and is a director with C&M International, the firm's trade policy affiliate. His practice focuses on all aspects of compliance with U.S. economic sanctions, including day-to-day compliance guidance, developing compliance programs, responding to government inquiries, conducting internal investigations, and representation during civil and criminal enforcement proceedings. American Lawyer recognized him for his role working with clients on a daily basis to manage complying with international sanctions, particularly in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Wolff and his team worked around the clock to provide “usable-today” guidance for clients to distill the key effects of the rapidly changing laws.

“Lawyers are not simply providing counseling on periodic legal issues as they arise, but are trusted participants in clients’ internal strategic assessments as they rely not only on our legal acumen, but our business sense, and practical judgment,” Wolff told the publication.
