Crowell & Moring Elects Four New Partners and Promotes Eight Attorneys to Counsel Positions

Crowell & Moring LLP is pleased to announce it has elected four attorneys to the firm's partnership effective January 1, 2010. The firm has also promoted eight associates to the position of counsel. The new partners and counsel have been promoted from within the ranks of the firm's Washington, D.C., Orange County, CA., New York, London, and Brussels offices.

The new partners are as follows:
- John L. Cuddihy is a member of the firm's Litigation Group and a resident in the Washington, D.C. office. He focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, particularly intellectual property and antitrust disputes, in which he represents both corporate plaintiffs and defendants. Prior to becoming an attorney, Cuddihy worked as a press officer for Ambassador Madeleine K. Albright at the United States Mission to the United Nations in New York, and as a speech writer for Governor James J. Florio of New Jersey.
- William J. Flanagan is a member of the firm's Labor & Employment, Corporate and Health Care groups and a resident in the Washington, D.C. office. He advises clients on employee benefits matters and has more than 30 years of experience with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). He has represented major insurance companies, Fortune 500 companies, institutional money and investment managers, and employee benefit plans in all areas covered by Title I of ERISA.
- John E. McCarthy Jr. is a member of the firm's Government Contracts Group and a resident in the Washington, D.C. office. He focuses his practice in the areas of government contracts and litigation, with a particular emphasis on technology related issues. In addition to his government contracts experience, McCarthy has experience in a broad array of non-government contracts matters including IT outsourcing, insurance coverage, and intellectual property.
- Baiju S. Vasani is a member of the firm's International Arbitration practice and a resident in the Washington, D.C. and London offices. He focuses his practice exclusively on international investment and commercial arbitration covering various sectors and industries across the globe. Vasani is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University's Law Center, where he teaches International Arbitration.
