Join the New York City Bar for an informal breakfast discussion about tips and strategies for conducting party and non-party international discovery in New York courts. Topics of discussion will include: admissibility of evidence collected abroad, the Hague Convention, depositions conducted through video and electronic means, the use of translators and foreign law experts, and general state court procedures for obtaining evidence from non-parties to the proceeding. Panelists will cover pragmatic considerations and unexpected pitfalls that practitioners tend to encounter when conducting such discovery in unfamiliar terrain.
