Overview

Jared advises clients on criminal and civil government investigations, enforcement actions, and litigation. He represents individuals and businesses in all phases of internal corporate investigations and assists clients in strategically responding to government inquiries including grand jury investigations, search warrants, and civil investigative demands.

Jared brings substantial government experience to his practice, having served as a Trial Attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Criminal Division in Washington, D.C., and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney (SAUSA) in both the Eastern District of Virginia and the District of Maryland. His practice is shaped by a deep understanding of government enforcement priorities and the intersection of criminal, civil, and regulatory risk, enabling him to provide strategic, pragmatic counsel to clients navigating government scrutiny.

Before rejoining Crowell, Jared investigated and prosecuted complex criminal matters at the DOJ, working closely with federal law enforcement agencies on sensitive and high‑profile cases. While serving as a federal prosecutor, Jared represented the United States in criminal investigations and prosecutions of a wide variety of crimes including fraud, racketeering, international narcotics trafficking, and violent crimes including murder. Jared has successfully litigated multiple complex federal cases to favorable verdicts, examined numerous witnesses, delivered opening and closing arguments, and briefed and argued cases before district courts in various jurisdictions.
