Overview

Valerie Ellis is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in international trade law, spanning both the public and private sectors.

Valerie focuses on trade remedy proceedings and tariff-related matters, with significant experience guiding companies through antidumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) investigations, Section 232 tariff issues, and related customs valuation questions. She advised clients responding to U.S. Customs and Border Protection inquiries involving classification, duty assessment, and documentation. She also represents companies in national security investigations, including guiding deals through the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).

Valerie has also been actively involved in federal court litigation arising from recent tariff actions, contributing to the development of legal arguments, drafting substantive motions and briefs, and coordinating with the U.S. Court of International Trade on procedural matters. She is experienced at oral argument and regularly prepares merits and appellate briefing in trade remedy disputes. 

She has represented clients across diverse industries, including agriculture and manufacturing, with a particular focus on U.S.-Canada-Mexico trade issues, including complex tariff matters. Known for her creative problem-solving, tireless advocacy, and technical proficiency, Valerie is a trusted advisor who brings both skill and a collaborative approach to every matter she handles.

When not representing clients in trade matters, Valerie performs service work for women experiencing the cycle of abuse as well as those suffering from addiction and homelessness.
