Tadashi Horie brings more than 25 years of experience to a practice focused on patent prosecution, opinion, licensing issues, and litigation. With a deep background in electrical and computer-related technologies, he has particular experience in matters involving video and audio coding, computer-controlled medical diagnostic analyzers, signal processing, semiconductors, software, and fuel cell systems. - Advised wireless telephone company on the creation of a patent portfolio in the MPEG technology area; similarly, advised an electrical utility company on building a patent portfolio in the fuel cell technology area.
- Successfully defended medical equipment company against claims of patent infringement brought in both Florida federal court and the International Trade Commission.
- Successfully defended manufacturer of electrical connectors in patent infringement litigation brought in California federal court.
- Advised medical diagnostic service company entering a new line of business in gene therapy on a variety of licensing matters, including negotiating for and obtaining patent licenses.
