Overview

Nicolas Rios brings a wide range of experience to his work serving clients on health-related matters and beyond. Leveraging his experience in philanthropy, nonprofit, and community health projects and research, Nicolas provides key insights on the interplay across sectors on the nexus of health.

Prior to his role at CMI, Nicolas served as a Program Coordinator for Representative Democracy, a philanthropic startup focused on driving investments in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in all levels of public service—engaging federal, state, county, and city level officials in the US.

Nicolas has also led community-based research assessments on the cultural competency and effectiveness of evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention and sexual health education programs in the Southwestern U.S. with a focus on linguistic, cultural, and communications barriers to program implementation.

Additionally, Nicolas worked closely on procurement and trade matters related to pandemic preparedness—having conducted a comparative analysis of U.S. and Mexico public health and trade policies relating to production, deployment, and mandated use of personal protective equipment (PPEs) during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

He holds a bachelor of arts in international affairs-global public health from The George Washington University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
