Overview

Karen is counsel in the firm’s Chicago office and a member of the Health Care Group. She handles a wide variety of litigation matters involving commercial and business disputes in state and federal court as well as in alternative dispute resolution forums, including Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services (JAMS) and the American Arbitration Association (AAA).

Karen has worked on a variety of matters, including a wide range of commercial disputes relating to breach of contract, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), health care claim pricing, bad faith, product liability defense, and debt collection litigation related to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act claims.

Karen’s practice focuses on representation of managed care organizations (MCOs), health plans, and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs). She has significant experience defending and counseling clients against claims relating to health care and managed care contracting disputes involving reimbursement, breach of contract, ERISA, and a variety of state law claims.
