Jared Burns

Counsel

Overview

Jared is an accomplished litigator, trusted to resolve complex disputes and guide clients toward practical solutions. His blend of business insight, legal acumen, and leadership skills—honed through years as a United States Marine Corps Officer—allows him to provide strategic counsel to a wide spectrum of clients, including individuals, small businesses, government entities, and Fortune 100 companies.

In his health care practice, Jared focuses on affirmative recovery actions for managed care organizations, bringing claims involving fraud, waste, abuse, breaches of contract, and other recovery-driven disputes. He is a trusted partner for these organizations, helping them maximize recoveries, navigate regulatory complexities, and safeguard their interests in high-stakes disputes.

Beyond health care, Jared has substantial experience in general commercial and transportation litigation, including representing major trucking and logistics companies, as well as litigating on behalf of railroads and large land developers. His diverse industry experience allows him to quickly understand clients’ operational and commercial realities, tailoring litigation strategy to their business goals.

As a former law clerk to Judge Timothy J. Corrigan of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Jared is very comfortable litigating cases in federal court and he has represented clients before the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Eleventh and D.C. Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida. He also has substantial experience litigating in Florida’s trial and appellate courts. His continued service in the Marine Corps Reserve further exemplifies the discipline, integrity, and commitment he brings to his legal practice.
