On May 13, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) revised its Interim Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People.  Since the CDC’s April 27, 2021, guidance for vaccinated people, which Crowell & Moring summarized here, the CDC has loosened its recommendations for individuals who are fully vaccinated.  The key changes are that (1) fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance; and (2) fully vaccinated people need not take a COVID test following a known exposure, unless they are residents or employees of a correctional or detention facility or a homeless shelter.

On January 20, 2016, the U.S. Supreme Court held 6-3 in Campbell-Ewald Company v. Gomez, No. 14-857 (2016), that the plaintiff's Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) claim is not mooted by an unaccepted settlement offer, including a Fed. R. Civ. P. 68 offer of judgment. The decision is considered a substantial victory for consumer class action claimants, but may not foreclose all potential use of Rule 68 offers as a defense in class actions.

The EU REACH legislation establishes an integrated system for the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemical substances. It requires all companies (including US-based companies) which manufacture in, or import chemical substances into, the EU in quantities of one ton or more per year to register them with the European Chemicals Agency in Helsinki, Finland.
