The Inclusion, Diversity & Change: Inspiring Growth [Virtual Summit]: New York
Webinar | 06.02.21, 7:15 AM EDT - 8:00 AM EDT
Partner Michelle Gitlitz will participate on the panel entitled "Networking in a Pandemic: How to Stay Calm & Connected in the New Normal" during The Inclusion, Diversity & Change: Inspiring Growth [Virtual Summit]: New York.
While the pandemic has certainly generated undue hardship, it has also offered us more than a few silver linings. These include more flexibility in regard to where we work and when we work. As a result, many are choosing to pursue new opportunities and nontraditional paths. However, this requires confidence, creativity, and the necessary personal awareness to get in touch with what is important to you. It also requires a strong network and the ability to ASK for what you want.
This panel will explore:
- Getting clear with what you really want
- How to build a strong network in a virtual world….it’s a skill that needs to be developed!
- The ASK: Asking for what you want and knowing why you deserve it
- Paying it forward: How best to advocate others

The federal government has identified purported ‘waste, fraud, and abuse’ in small business programs as a major focus of its current enforcement efforts. As it relates to federal procurement, we have seen audits and investigations rolled out not only of active participants in the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development Program but also reviews of various types of small business contracts (such as 8(a) sole source and set-aside awards, preference-based awards, and small business set-aside awards over particular values). Join Crowell & Moring as we discuss what aspects of contract performance and teaming arrangements are being scrutinized (e.g., size/status eligibility, limitations on subcontracting compliance, reasonableness of market rates, etc.) and how these considerations can impact both small government contractors holding the prime contracts under review and their subcontractors.
