Given the stresses and pressures that are common in the legal profession, it is not hard to find ourselves disconnected from others and lacking in adequate social support. Research has shown that lawyers are among the loneliest professionals, and a lack of connection is a driver of many threats to professional performance and personal well-being, including burnout, anxiety, depression, substance misuse, and suicidality. With the right tools, however, these experiences and threats to our well-being can be successfully managed and effectively mitigated to protect our health and maintain professional competence.

Please join us for this engaging upcoming discussion that will equip you with useful tools and practical takeaways for fostering deeper connections, improving your well-being, and more effectively managing the day-to-day stresses of your life and career.

Key topics will include the latest research on mental health and well-being in the legal profession, the prevalence and dangers of loneliness, the reciprocal relationship between burnout and loneliness, the health and well-being benefits of connection, strategies to create connections in the workplace and our personal lives, how to connect with and support those who may be struggling, challenging stigma and dispelling myths about mental health, and recognizing when to seek help for mental health or substance use problems.
