The Week Ahead

DC Week Ahead: President Barack Obama hosts French President Francois Hollande for two days, beginning with a trip to Monticello, the Virginia home of Thomas Jefferson. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen will testify before House and Senate Committees to deliver the Fed’s semi-annual report on monetary policy and the outlook for the U.S. economy.

International Week Ahead:
The Bank of England will publish its quarterly economic outlook, with new forecasts for growth and inflation, and European Central Bank President Mario Draghi is scheduled to speak in Brussels.

Debt Limit Update:
Treasury begins the use of extraordinary measures to continue to pay the government’s bills until late February. The House could move legislation to increase the debt limit as early as this week.
