ACC’s New York City Chapter - The Art of Contracting: Tools and Tips for Identifying and Avoiding Common Traps in Commercial Contracts

Event | 06.15.17, 10:00 AM EDT - 10:50 AM EDT

Address

Convene (Grand Central Location)
101 Park Avenue (at 41st Street)

Crowell & Moring New York attorneys Ed Baum, Alan Howard, Paul Pollock, and Ilana Lubin join Robert K. Smits, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Global Brands Group, in presenting The Art of Contracting, a panel discussion taking place during the Association of Corporate Counsel’s (ACC) New York City Chapter Full-Day CLE conference, In-House Toolkit: The Nuts and Bolts.

Session description:
Contract negotiation skills and contract dispute experience are two great things that work even better together. Some common contract provisions frequently generate litigation, either because they are unclear as drafted or because they operate in an unexpected and undesirable way.

This further installment of our workshop series will continue our exploration of how integrating your corporate and litigation strategies to structure contracts can produce more durable agreements that are less likely to trigger disputes. We provide highly practical and actionable insights for lawyers whose job it is to get their companies’ contracts just right. Attendance at our prior workshops is not required; this session will focus on additional topics that can vex unwary corporate lawyers and their litigation colleagues.
