- To assess and share the risk and rewards with outside counsel, to ensure that objectives are aligned and met
- To break down matter processes into elements, identify elements for improvement, and assign responsibility for each element
- To use project management techniques to establish key milestones that ensure work and budget are on track and objectives will be met
