Gage Javier (CIPP/US), an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Crowell & Moring and a member of the Privacy & Cybersecurity Group, will be a panelist at this year's American Bar Association TIPS Section Conference, taking placing in Baltimore, MD April 27-30. Her panel is titled, "NextGen Privacy - Going Beyond PHI and PII," and will take place on April 27th at 2:15 p.m. ET. 

Government agencies and private companies are collecting, storing, and using a host of information about individuals, including facial recognition and other biometric data. This panel will address the basics of what is biometric data, how it is collected, what it is used for, what are its limitations, how it can be misused, and the legal and ethical implications.
