29th Annual FASB/SEC Accounting Institute

Event | 11.19.08 - 11.20.08, 12:00 AM UTC - 12:00 AM UTC

Executive Enterprise Institute (EII) will be hosting a series of seminars concerning the new Fair Value Accounting program. There's nothing more changeable than the rules of the game as defined by the Financial Accounting Standards Board. And there's nothing more important than keeping fully up-to-date on these changes. Many companies have gone from the fast track of success to total derailment because they haven't followed through with the latest reporting requirements.

On November 19, Crowell & Moring's Dan Zelenko (Former Branch Chief, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission) will lead a discussion about the "Current Accounting and Reporting 'Hot Buttons' and SEC Enforcement Perspectives," and will walk participants through significant staff interpretations that are critical to today's financial reporting registrants. Accounting fraud has become one of the highest priorities of the Enforcement Division of the SEC and this discussion will address the types of accounting deficiencies that have led to SEC enforcement actions, citing recent examples of enforcement actions brought against officers and employees of public companies.
