Stronger Dollar Pushes Trade Agreements Act Thresholds Down

On December 15, 2015, the U.S. Trade Representative published its biennial readjustment of the Trade Agreements Act thresholds expressed in "special drawing rights." The new dollar thresholds, effective for 2016-2017, will be approximately 6.4% lower than the current thresholds, going to $191,000 for most covered supply contracts and $7,358,000 for most covered construction contracts, with other adjusted thresholds applicable to certain free trade agreements.

Access to Public Domain Documents Pilot: Practice Direction 51ZH
The Pilot codifies the position at common law, set out by Lady Hale in Cape Intermediate Holdings Ltd v Dring [2019] UKSC 38, which permits the public the right of access to documents placed before a court and referenced in a public hearing[4]. This Pilot will apply to cases heard in the Commercial Court, the London Circuit Commercial Court (King’s Bench Division), and the Financial List (Commercial Court and Chancery Division)[5].
