Karen A. Rosenthal is a counsel in the firm's Product Liability & Torts Group. Resident in the D.C. office, she joined the firm in 1997.
Karen's practice involves services to a multinational corporation as national counsel for the company's premises liability litigation. She has managed cases in multiple jurisdictions in both state and federal court and has served on trial teams for several trials. Her responsibilities include working extensively with corporate, fact, and expert witnesses to prepare them for trial, drafting significant motions and pleadings, managing discovery, and ensuring trial readiness across jurisdictions. She has also handled products liability claims and served as national counsel for silica products cases. In addition, she has been actively engaged in the firm’s pro bono program, assisting clients in a variety of areas with a focus on immigration cases.
Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Karen handled complex insurance coverage litigation for several major U.S. insurers and also provided counseling on various reinsurance matters.
Karen graduated from James Madison University's Honors Scholars Program, magna cum laude, and the University of Virginia School of Law, where she served as an executive editor of the Virginia Environmental Law Review.
