Eduardo Mathison is an international associate in Crowell & Moring’s International Dispute Resolution Group and is based in the Washington, D.C. office. He also works closely with the firm’s International Trade Group and C&M International.

Eduardo focuses his practice on international arbitration. He has experience representing clients in international investment and commercial disputes before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), as well as ad hoc arbitrations conducted under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. Eduardo also has experience representing foreign and domestic clients in Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act (FSIA) litigation, including victims of terrorism.

In his trade practice, Eduardo has experience assisting clients in Latin American countries on U.S. economic sanctions, anti-money laundering (AML) laws and regulations, export controls, customs, regulatory and investment-related issues, and anti-corruption and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). He also works closely with consultants of the firm’s affiliate, C&M International, providing assistance on international trade developments, investment, regulatory policy, and government affairs.

As a dual-qualified lawyer in New York and Venezuela, Eduardo is an active member of Crowell & Moring's Latin America practice. He has assisted clients and worked with local counsel in over 15 different jurisdictions across Latin America and the Caribbean, on a wide range of matters.

Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Eduardo was an associate in the litigation group of a leading Venezuelan firm, where he advised and represented clients in all contexts of litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Eduardo earned his law degree from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas, Venezuela, and his LL.M. in international business and economic law with a certificate in international arbitration and dispute resolution from Georgetown University Law Center.

Eduardo is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in English.
