Third Thursday: What Employers Should Know About the NLRB’s New “Quickie Election” Rules
June 25, 2015
Starts: 12:00 PM (Eastern)
Ends: 1:00 PM (Eastern)
Please join us for the next edition of Third Thursday – Crowell & Moring’s Labor and Employment Update, a webinar series dedicated to helping our clients stay on top of developing law and emerging compliance issues.
On April 14, 2015, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) implemented significant changes to its long-standing union election rules – changes that alter the playing field in representation elections dramatically in favor of unions. Among other things, the new rules speed up the election process significantly and impose new burdens upon employers. By design, the new rules are intended to ensure that employers confronted with a union election will not have sufficient time to educate their employees fully about what union representation really means prior to the time that employees are required to vote. The employer community has now had two months of experience with the new rules.
Our panelists will discuss the new election rules and why the new rules make it much easier for unions to successfully organize the employers they target. Our panel will review the proactive steps employers can and should take to prepare for potential union organizing in the new environment.
This webinar is scheduled for the Fourth Thursday of June, Thursday, June 25 at 12:00 pm Eastern. We hope that you can join us and participate in a lively discussion of these issues.
