FDLI's Food Advertising Conference

October 8, 2014 • New York, NY

Site: Winston & Strawn LLP
Address: 200 Park Avenue

The recent increase in litigation and regulatory enforcement makes this conference essential for food and beverage stakeholders who must understand the current and emerging parameters for marketing and advertising in the marketplace. The recent Lanham Act competitor suit brought by POM Wonderful against Coca-Cola and subsequent Supreme Court decision will inevitably change the landscape of FDA and FTC enforcement and litigation in the realm of false and misleading advertising. This conference will take an in-depth look at this case and its potential effects, as well as hot topics such as functional food claims, advertising and marketing geared toward children, and self-regulatory initiatives within the industry. Speakers will also address the current state of GMOs and the newly filed lawsuit brought by industry associations against Vermont for its mandatory GMO labeling legislation. Additionally, speakers will review other key advertising litigation and discuss strategies for avoiding and dealing with litigation.

April Ross is one of the panelists on the topic, "Food Labeling Class Actions and Strategies for Dealing with and Preventing Litigation."
