Crowell & Moring New York attorneys Ed Baum, Jared Levine, Paul Pollock, and Ilana Lubin join Robert K. Smits, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Global Brands Group, in presenting The Art of Contracting, a panel discussion exclusively for members of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s New York City Chapter and other in-house counsel.

Session description:
Contract negotiation skills and contract dispute experience are two great things that work even better together. Some common contract provisions frequently generate litigation, either because they are unclear as drafted or because they operate in an unexpected and undesirable way.

This advanced-level installment in our popular Art of Contracting workshop series takes a deep dive into issues not covered in our earlier presentations. Topics will include assignment/change of control, dispute resolution, choice of forum and law, and stipulated damages. For each issue, we will explain key characteristics and address important questions.

Whether you are a transactional attorney or a seasoned litigator, this presentation will provide you with clear insight into how integrating corporate and litigation strategies to structure contracts can produce more durable agreements that are less likely to trigger disputes. You will come away with practical, actionable knowledge to help you get your company’s contracts just right.

New York CLE accreditation is pending.
