New Defense CAS Board Proposed in Senate Version of NDAA

Section 811 of the Senate version of the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act proposes the creation of a new Defense Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) Board. The Administration has objected to this provision, which it believes “would result in unnecessary overlap and duplication with the functions of the existing Government-wide CAS Board and could result in contractors with both Defense and civilian contracts having to comply with two different standards for the same cost issue.”
