Calling All Innovators: DIUx Announces Strategic Outreach Plan

On November 30, DIUx participated in a panel hosted by the Center for a New American Security and further described its efforts to shift the acquisition innovation culture from a sole-buyer market headed by DoD into an arena in which nontraditional suppliers can work collectively with military workforce who have insight on the technological vulnerabilities the military currently faces. DIUx announced its intention to host workshops and presentations for nontraditional suppliers who otherwise would be discouraged or intimidated by contracting with the DoD, to work to shorten and/or modify traditional DoD procurement requirements, and to endorse flexible arrangements with nontraditional suppliers.

Bid protest practitioners in recent years have witnessed agencies’ increasing efforts to limit the production of documents and information in response to Government Accountability Office (GAO) bid protests—often will little pushback from GAO.
