On November 30, DIUx participated in a panel hosted by the Center for a New American Security and further described its efforts to shift the acquisition innovation culture from a sole-buyer market headed by DoD into an arena in which nontraditional suppliers can work collectively with military workforce who have insight on the technological vulnerabilities the military currently faces. DIUx announced its intention to host workshops and presentations for nontraditional suppliers who otherwise would be discouraged or intimidated by contracting with the DoD, to work to shorten and/or modify traditional DoD procurement requirements, and to endorse flexible arrangements with nontraditional suppliers.

After identifying a ransomware attack in 2021, OSF Healthcare System waited until its forensic investigation had concluded before notifying the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) — and the affected individuals — of the breach.
