Hallucinating Deepfakes and Their Human Friends: Life, Love and Law in times of Generative AI

Event | 03.27.24, 9:00 AM CET - 1:30 PM CET

Address

Crowell & Moring
7 Rue Joseph Stevens
1000 Brussels

This is an invite-only client event.

Would you replace a human news anchor by synthetic animation? Would you use AI-generated music for a commercial, for a documentary or for a feature film? Would you have an AI tool write a first draft of an article or, inversely, edit and correct human copy? Would you have an AI make the first selection of among hundreds of scenarios? Or would you trust it to pick the ingredients for a hit series? Would you let an AI make trailers and thumbnails of a new series for the socials? Would you have your subscribers chat to an AI to process their complaints?

So many questions before we have even addressed the legal questions the media sector is facing.

Generative AI or GenAI refers to the AI models that are capable of generating content (images, video, text, sound), based on training data gathered elsewhere and human prompts. The opportunities are many, but so are the risks and the legal system is slowly adapting to accommodate this evolving relationship between AI and humans.

In this in-person workshop, our lawyers will present the state of play in various legal fields, hoping to have a discussion among our selected invitees.
